ABOUT THE PROGRAM

As our society becomes more global and connections between cultures grow, many Christian leaders have a desire to expand their knowledge and consciousness for global Christian service. ACU’s online Master of Arts in Global Service is designed to equip you for ministries that require living, working and communicating in the intercultural contexts typical of today's global society.

Upon completion, graduates will be able to:

• Integrate the biblical, historical, and theological perspectives foundational for contemporary Christian practice.
  
• Demonstrate an understanding of the mission of God and their place within that mission as both individuals and members of the global Church
• Learn how to live, work, and communicate appropriately in a variety of cultural contexts.

The Graduate School of Theology is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools, an organization of more than 250 graduate schools that conduct post-baccalaureate professional and academic degree programs to educate persons for the practice of ministry and for teaching and research in theological disciplines. 

FORMAT

Online with optional residency

Drawing upon theology, sociology, anthropology, history and communication theory, the M.A. in Global Service challenges you to analyze contemporary global concerns, formulate Christian perspectives and explore solutions to intercultural challenges. Our innovative online global service degree includes four one-week campus residencies; web-based course work mixed with face-to-face learning that creates an incredibly flexible educational experience.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for admission, students must:

• Complete the online program application accompanied by a non-refundable processing fee.
• Submit an official transcript of all previous colleges attended. The transcript must indicate an earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent.
• Have a cumulative undergraduate 3.0 GPA or above in the area of focus or related area and evidence of an overall productive GPA.
• Submit two letters of recommendation (may be submitted through the online application).
• Author a personal statement of interest.
• Submit an academic writing sample.
